Call for Bay Area LGBTQ+ Short films!

We’re presenting another selection of shorts this September in Oakland, CA as part of Reel Queer Flix. Submissions due May 23, 2025.

A celebration of local films

Taking place during Oakland's Pride week, Reel Queer Flix honors Bay Area LGBTQ+ films from past and present.

The festival screens at the iconic Grand Lake Theatre in Oakland's LGBTQ Cultural District.

The festival is organized by Cinemama, a collective of Bay Area Filmmakers, formerly known as "Oakland Film Center," serving as a creative hub for the Bay Area film community.

Accessibility: The festival is presented in an ADA-venue, ASL interpretation provided at the event and burned-in captions accompany each film.

The evening includes a Q&A with the filmmakers. Learn about our 2024 and 2023 screenings.
